Initially, Right click on the start button on your screen and press the run option
2. Now type “services.msc” and hit ok
3. Once you do that a new window will appear with a lot of applications
4. Now select any of the applications and press ‘W’ and scroll down till you find ‘Windows Update’
5. Once you find the Windows update, right-click on it and select the properties option
6. Now finally choose the disable option in the category of ‘Startup type’ and then hit ok
7. Now if you want to disable it permanently there is an (additional step), here’s how it goes: Press the Windows and ‘R‘ key and it’ll open up the run window, then type “regedit”
8. Once you’ve typed it hit ok, and then it’ll ask for your permission simply click on yes
9. Then there will be a different window, in that go to the option “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” , then further choose the “Software” option, then choose the option “Policies” and then “Microsoft” and then choose “Windows”. 10. Now right-click on Windows and go to ‘New’ , click on ‘Key’ and type ‘Windows Update’
11. Once you type Windows update just hit enter and Right click and choose ‘New’ and later ‘Key’ and Now type “AU” and hit enter
12. Once you select ‘AU’ on the right-hand side just do a right-click and choose ‘New’ and latter ‘DWORD (32-bit) Value’
13. Now type ‘NoAutoUpdate’ Note: Dont give any space while writing, Once you type ‘NoAutoUpdate’ , hit Enter
14. Now double click on ‘NoAutoUpdate’ , Now in the ‘Value data’ Category give the Value as ‘1’ and hit OK
Finally, Now you’ve permanently disabled the Windows updates
